PARTNEY & DALBY PARISH COUNCIL

The Annual Meeting of the new Council was held on 14th May 2007 when Councillor John Hudson was re-elected Chairman.   Councillor Mrs M.E.Dawson was elected vice-chairman.  The Chairman paid tribute to three past members – Mr John Oliver,  Mr A.E.Kemp and Gp Capt. A. Callaway  who had decided to retire.   Mr Oliver had served the Council for over 30 years and Mr Kemp had also served a long time, some of which was in the position of Clerk.  The Chairman then welcomed the new Councillors, Mr Michael Lovelock & Mrs Ann Lovelock for Partney and Mrs Emma Middleton representing Dalby. 

Several issues were discussed including – provision of Bus Shelter, vandalism to bus timetables, street lighting,  blocked roadside drains, particularly the ones in Maddison Square and opposite the Rectory on the old A158.

 Partney Shop offered to find room for another re-cycling bin at their premises.  It was noted that the new finger signpost to be placed at the Church Corner would be completed as soon as new posts had been made.  Mrs Angie Morris, the internal auditor had completed the initial audit of the Council’s accounts and these were presented for consideration.  The Treasurer, Councillor John Pearson answered questions on the accounts and they were approved. It was agreed to pay the insurance account.
